This International Consultant is currently seeking a Water Transmission Line Engineer for a project in Bangladesh. The project is an introduction of surface water supply system to Khulna City and aims to improve local living conditions. The project itself will involve the construction of a long distance raw water transmission pipe of 33km, an impounding reservoir and a surface water treatment plant of 110,000 m3/day.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

Design Phase:
• Prepare the list of equipment required in compliance with the requirements for the local conditions and compare with what is at present available
• Prepare specifications for equipment and spare parts
• In consultation with the Specification specialist, prepare the bidding documents for procurement of equipment and spare parts
• In consultation with the Specification specialist prepare the bid documents
• In consultation with the Contract specialist proceed bid process including invitation, evaluation and award
• Assist the Team Leader in bid preparation and evaluation

Construction Phase
• Compare the tendered specification
• Check the tendered specification with the type of spare parts
• Certify for payment of the equipment and spare parts
• Supervise installation of mechanical works
• Coordinate with the Contractor to train local personnel in operation and maintenance of all mechanical installation

To be successful ideally you should have the following:
• Graduate degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant field of engineering. Masters would be more preferable.
• Total Professional experience 25 years
• At least fifteen (15) years’ experience in mechanical designing in major project in the field of water supply system.
• At least five (5) years of International experience (outside home country) in relevant field.
• Working experience in both developed and developing countries are required in the relevant field.
