This European Construction company has worked in western Africa for over 40 years executing successful major projects in all sectors. They are currently seeking a Project Environmental Manager to work in Lagos, Nigeria. The Project Environmental Manager is the Project L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Champion.

Your tasks will include the following:

Report to the Project HSE Manager for general HSE related issues and functions, and to the Project Manager for L.E.E.D. related issues.
Ensure the successful implementation of all L.E.E.D. issues falling under the Contractor’s responsibilities.
Maintain and develop L.E.E.D. documentation.
Fulfill all L.E.E.D reporting requirements falling under the Contractor responsibilities.
Be the HSE Deputy HSE Manager.
Replace and take the function of the Project HSE Manager in its absence.
Assist the Project HSE Manager in his role and functions.
Requirements
To be successful ideally you should have the following:

Environmental Diploma or Degree, Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or Certification
Experience with the L.E.E.D process and standards
HSE experience in construction and / or energy industry sectors
Experienced in ISO 14001 Standards
Experience with UK and US HSE construction industry standards
Conversant with IT tools
Experience in Nigeria or West Africa would be an advantage
Experience abroad in an international working environment
Being a L.E.E.D. Accredited Professional (LEED AP) is not mandatory but would be an advantage
