An opportunity exists to join the engineering team of an International market leader in the supply of capital equipment. They are currently seeking a Project Manager with a background in civil construction projects or telecommunications installation projects to take responsibility for the delivery and installation of a complete project in West Africa.

Your position will involve taking responsibility for the management, installation and integration of several installations. The successful applicant will identify suitable locations, carry out site surveys, recruit and appoint local staff and contractors to carry out the works and to project manage the complete contract from installation through to handover. Ideally you will have experience of customs and practices in West Africa. As well as a civil engineering background, a knowledge of radar technology and telecommunications infrastructure would be a distinct benefit.

Your responsibilities:
• To develop and manage the complete project installation plan.
• Control of day to day activities including manpower, logistics and sub-contractors.
• Maintain regular communication of project status to UK head office.
• Responsible for achieving budget and scheduled milestones.
• Resolution of customer and project related issues.
• Management of non-compliance issues.
• Site acceptance and testing.
• Interface with the supplier, customer and its agencies.

Skills & Experience required:
• Civil Engineering Qualification
• French & English speaking
• Significant Overseas Project Management experience
• 5 years + experience in West Africa
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.

For this role they are seeking a self-motivated, highly organised, ambitious individual. Whilst the position will be based in-country regular travel between the UK and Africa shall be required.
