This European Construction company has worked in western Africa for over 40 years executing successful major projects in all sectors. They are currently seeking a Project HSE Manager to work on the construction of a plant facility in Lagos, Nigeria.

Your tasks will include the following:

Reports to the Project Manager
Ensure the successful implementation of the Project HSE requirements based on UK / US references.
Lead the Project HSE Department, including HSE staff skills development.
Be the focal point of contact for the Project HSE issues and have a co-ordination role between client, authorities, Project Management, Supervision and Subcontractors.
Maintain and develop the Project HSE documentation and fulfill all requirements falling directly under the HSE department (i.e. Audits, training, HSE workshops, meetings, investigations, assessments, records, etc.).

To be successful ideally you should have the following:

Occupational Health and Safety Diploma, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
HSE experience in construction and / or energy industry sectors
A minimum of 5 years experience in HSE Managing positions
A minimum of 10 years in HSE position
Experienced in OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001 Standards
Conversant with IT tools
Experience with UK and US HSE construction industry standards
Experience in Nigeria or West Africa would be a plus
Experience abroad in an international working environment would be a plus
