Our Client currently operates a US$1.5 billion business which spans 140 countries with 13,000 staff working in all sectors from transport, energy, buildings, water and the environment to health and education, industry and communications. The business is continually winning commercial and Industry awards, including being ‘International Consultancy of the year’ (NCE/ACE).

They are now looking to establish a buildings design team, to compliment their large Bahrain City Centre project team that is delivering one of the largest projects in the history of Bahrain. This is a very exciting opportunity to join a team at a ‘start up stage’ and have the prospect of shaping the growth of a major consultancies presence within a new market, and the obvious career opportunity’s that this will entail. You will have the full support of one of the most experienced buildings teams within the industry.

As Technical Director, this role will be responsible for a range of innovative, challenging and demanding project requirements and deliverables. The role presents the opportunity to utilise a wide range of skills and experience and offers fantastic opportunities for continued skill set and career development.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

· Undertake significant business development activity, including networking, developing relationships, winning work, and ensuring repeat work from clients.
· Lead and coordinate the preparation and the organisation of bids, proposals and general business development submissions.
· Lead the multi-disciplinary teams to high value (£50m+) project requirements.
· Day-to-day internal and customer liaison.
· To provide leadership and strategic direction to all functions and staff at all levels within the department.
· Providing capabilities and knowledge in the aspects involved in design of all types of buildings.

To be successful ideally you should have the following:
· a chartered Building Structures Engineer or related discipline.
· have experience of managing large Buildings projects.
· have a strong track record of ensuring projects performance and delivery.
· experience of successfully leading large projects from concept to delivery (£20m+)
· A comprehensive knowledge and appreciation of current technical engineering codes and practices and taking a ‘hand on’ role in technical matters both at project and divisional level
