Principal Quantity Surveyor

Location:Turks & Caicos IslandsSalary:US $43,000 + expat benefits.

This is a senior professional position which has nationwide responsibility for quantity surveying of all government building works. You will be required to work closely with the Project Design and Management team in preparing accurate estimates and bills of quantities; in preparing tender documents and reviewing offers and making recommendations for contract award. You will also be required to make regular site inspections, produce accurate cost projections, proper preparation of tender documents, effective cost control and reconciliation of works and contracts.

This position requires a Masters Degree in Quantity Surveying. In addition to said degree this position requires at least 8 years of on the job experience. You should also hold a Membership of a recognized chartered Institution, and have exposure to professional quantity surveying practices and relevant knowledge of building codes and practices. Good computer, written and verbal communication skills are also required.

For persons recruited outside the Turks and Caicos Islands, the following benefits are offered in addition to basic salary: A two or three year extendable contract; housing allowance, end-of-contract gratuity of 15% of salary, return passages for a family of up to two children under the age of 16 years, duty free personal shipping imported within six months of the appointment.
